Mary Jo Sharp

A former atheist, Mary Jo Sharp was raised without religion. She is now an assistant professor of apologetics at Houston Christian University, the founder of Confident Christianity Apologetics Ministry, and the director of content for the new modern teen apologetics series Darkroom. She is the author of the Zondervan book Why I Still Believe: A Former Atheist’s Reckoning With the Bad Reputation Christians Give a Good God and the LifeWay bible study Why Do You Believe That? Tim Barnett

Eric Hernandez

Eric Hernandez is a dynamic evangelist and apologist with a heart for proclaiming the gospel and defending the faith on theological and philosophical grounds. He is a licensed minister, a certified formation therapist, and is the Apologetics Lead and Millennial Specialist for The Baptist General Convention of Texas. He has spoken and debated on a public level at university college campuses where he adamantly defends the Christian faith against atheist, agnostic, and deistic professors of different worldviews. He holds an associate degree in social science, a bachelor’s degree in theology, and a certificate in apologetics from Biola University.

Breakout Session Speakers

Katie McCoy

Katie McCoy serves as Director Women’s Ministry at Texas Baptists. She holds a PhD in Systematic Theology from Southwestern Seminary (TX), where she served on faculty for five years. Katie’s research includes the patterns of justice for women in Old Testament laws as well as the intersection of theology, gender, and women’s studies. She is a frequent speaker and writer on women’s and gender issues. Her book, To Be a Woman: The Confusion Over Female Identity and How Christians Can Respond, comes out Summer 2023. Katie loves to bake (or just make a mess in the kitchen) and the Container Store is her “happy place.”

Robert White

Robert White is the Lead Pastor of Freedom Church in Bedford, TX, a growing, diverse, and multi-generational church. Prior to planting Freedom Church, Robert served as the Youth and Young Adult pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, TX. Robert studied Business Administration with a Finance concentration at California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA. Robert is currently working on a Master of Divinity Degree from Baylor University’s George W. Truett Seminary. Robert is married to Marisha White and is the proud father of two daughters, Makenzie and Makayla.

Joshua Fultz

Josh Fults is the lead pastor at First Baptist Church in Orange, TX. He is a licensed professional counselor and has served in ministry for roughly twenty years. He has earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas, a Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics, and a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary. He has been married to his wife, Devon, for fifteen years. They have three children, Hayden (12), Hadley (10), and Hollyn (6). Josh is passionate about seeing people grow in their faith and live it out. His desire is for people to truly understand what they believe, stand on truth, and love the world around them.
